EVERY ESTHER NEEDS A MORDECAI (2)

EVERY ESTHER NEEDS A MORDECAI (2)

Point 3. THE GLIDING OBLIGATION OF MEANINGFUL MEMBERSHIP

Esther 2:21-23; 1 Corinthians 1:11; 5:1; 11:18,19; 1 Samuel 2:22-24,27-30; Romans 1:32; Ephesians 5:11; 1 Timothy 5:22; Esther 2:22; 6:1-13

You are a member of the church of God, and there is an obligation that God has outlined that you are to address yourself to; don’t let that obligation slip away from you. “In those days, while Mordecai sat in the king’s gate, two of the king’s chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus. And the thing was known to Mordecai, who told it unto Esther the queen; and Esther certified the king thereof in Mordecai’s name. And when inquisition was made of the matter, it was found out; therefore they were both hanged on a tree: and it was written in the book of the chronicles before the king” (Esther 2:21-23). God calls every saint, minister and servant of God to be vigilant. When Mordecai heard of the plot to kill the king, he did not keep quiet. When you see evil in the church, you will not allow it to take root, nor allow anyone to intimidate and stop you from speaking against such evil. We will speak against evil anywhere and not keep quiet, nor be on the side of evil doers. “It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife” (1 Corinthians 5:1). It was reported to Paul (by a faithful member) that there was fornication in the Corinthian Church. Though they were speaking in tongues, yet the obligation of holiness was slipping away from them. It is one thing to hear and another for the leader to do something about it. May our leaders be courageous. God will give you the courage to cleanse the Church in Jesus Name. “Now Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons did unto all Israel; and how they lay with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation” (1 Samuel 2:22). There is nothing wrong in becoming very old. Eli was old and his eyes dim but he had also became insensitive.  He heard all that his sons did, but he weak and blinded to their evils; He was weak and had no fire to do what was right.. You cannot continue to do evil and remain in the work of God. “Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them” (Romans 1:32). Don’t honour sinning members above God. There is no eternal security. Do you cover up people with the umbrella of partiality to continue in their evil deeds? If you love the people you will expose and report so that they will not perish and go to Hell. “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them” (Ephesians 5:11). This obligation is sliding away from the Church, that nobody is in the  position to rebuke evil doers anymore. That they don’t have the backbone, courage, love and conviction to bring anybody back to the path of holiness. You will not be like that. When you cover them up, or gloss over their sins and don’t report, you are partaker in their sins (1 Timothy 5:22). Fulfil your obligation and keep yourself pure.

“And the thing was known to Mordecai, who told it unto Esther the queen; and Esther certified the king thereof in Mordecai’s name” (Esther 2:22). Esther always acted promptly on whatever she heard from Mordecai. Pray that you will be like her, always acting promptly on the word of God that you are hearing and learning. She gave due honour and respect to Mordecai and reported the case in his name. Your good works and deeds will be recorded and will not be forgotten. God will bring your good to remembrance at the appropriate time, as with Mordecai. Nobody will get rid of you and whatever God has appointed for you to do, you will do in Jesus’ Name, and your good works the Lord will reward. Mordecai had something good on record, and the king looked into that record, that was how the promotion came to Mordecai (Esther 6:1-13). You must have something good in God’s record. You see evil going on, report it; you see backsliding going on, go to them and restore them, help them to stop dishonouring the Lord, It will go on record, that on the day of your exaltation, honour and glorification, all the good you have done, will come out publicly for the world to see. Sow the seed now, do the good now, expose the evil now and God is about to promote you.

Ponder on this! Every orphan needs a guardian; every child needs a tutor; every teenager needs a teacher; every sinner needs a seeker; every saints needs a shepherd; every member needs a minister;  every minister needs a mentor; every Joshua needs a Moses; every Elisha needs an Elijah; every Apollos needs an Aquila with Priscilla; every Mark needs a Peter, every Timothy needs a Paul; every Lot needs an Abraham; and every Believer needs a Bible. Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi.

Ponder on this! Looking at Esther’s life, there was no record of sin, dishonour, blemish, worldliness, transgression, pride, and evil in her life. Without true conversion and genuine salvation, this will be literally impossible to achieve in one’s life. Her life was characterised by teachableness, somebody that is bendable, and can be corrected; righteousness, humility, intercession, prayer and fasting, self-sacrifice, courage, self-control, answered prayer, divine wisdom, invincibility, unconquerable and undisturbed victory she had for the Jews, and she became the source of national joy. Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi.

Hard Sayings –  Sow the seed now, do the good now, expose the evil now and God is about to promote you. Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi.

Reflection – Esther’s obedience was grateful and graceful, heartfelt and heart-warming, pleasant and pleasing, thoughtful and thankful, very pure and purifying,  constant and complete, prompt and proper, prayerful and priceless, scriptural and sacrificial. Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi.

Words on the Marble – Nothing happens to a redeemed soul by accident. Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi.

Key words – You will not do anything today that will take the throne away from you tomorrow.  Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi.
