Topic – THE OMNISCIENCE OF GOD

Job 42:1,2; 1 Kings 8:39; Acts 1:24; 15:8,18

We have been speaking about the Omnipotence and Omnipresence of God in these morning sessions, and in this session, we are talking about the Omniscience of God. Omni – means All. Science – means knowledge; so Omniscience of God means that He knows all things, and because He knows everything, there is nothing strange to Him. You might be wondering why did this or that happened that is strange to you; to heaven, nothing is strange. God knows everything, and because He knows about that thing in your life, He will do something about it in Jesus Name. “I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee” (Job 42:2). Job says, God, now I know; I didn’t know this before. Job’s friends had come and spoken about what Job was going through, accusing him. Job also replied them, but really, they themselves didn’t understand what they were saying. Then God confronted Job with what He had done in His almightiness, and Job eventually said, now I know. Now you will know that God can do everything. Think about your life; anything happening that is not the perfect will of God, He will fix it. He can do all things. He knows everything and no thought can be withheld from Him. Still about The Omniscience of God, the All-knowing and All-Wise God. (1 Kings 8:39 …and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest) When God has forgiven, He forgets. He knows the hearts of all everywhere and in every generation. When the Apostles wanted to choose a replacement for Judas Iscariot – “And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen” (Acts 1:24). He knows everything even before they happen and from afar. “And God which knoweth the heart…… Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world” (Acts 15:8,18). You are part of His works; and because He knows you, He is going to give you the appropriate help at the right time and He will not be late in your life in Jesus Name.

3 points;

Point 1. THE COMFORTING TRUTH OF GOD’S OMNISCIENCE

Exodus 3:7-10; Job 34:21-22; Psalms 139:1-4; Job 12:13,22; Proverbs 15:3,11; Jeremiah 23:24; 51:15; Hebrews 4:12-13

The knowledge that God knows all things comforts us. ‘Omni’ again, means all, everything, from the beginning to the end, while the ‘science’ there is His knowledge – It is a comforting truth that God knows everything. “And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them them out of the hand of the Egyptians …” (Exodus 3:7,8a). Those things that brought sorrow, tears, and pressure upon your life in times past, God knows about them. He has heard your cries; He has heard all your prayers, even your good complaints; and because He knows, God is going to fix everything up in Jesus Name. Thank God those chains, yokes and curses will be broken and taken away; that oppression will come to an end. There is something this year for you. Now is your time that God will apply what He knows about you, your needs, cries, plans and desires and fulfil everything in Jesus Name. Now is the time; this period and at this time, the Lord will deliver you in Jesus Name. We are coming out (Exodus 3:7-10). How comforting it is that God knows everything about your life, family, aspirations, crossroads where you find yourself, plans, dreams, desires, future and needs you may have in your life. Thank God He knows (Job 34:21-22). He sees everything. He even knows the workers of iniquity; He knows their plans and plots and what moves them to do what they do, everything about them. Your enemies cannot hide, and the Lord will shield you from them in Jesus Name. You are protected, and you will be preserved, and no area of your life will escape the Omniscience of God in Jesus Name. (Psalms 139:1-4). He knows you in particular. Every need you may have in your life, God knows everything. There is not a conversation you hold, or a thought in your heart that God does not know about. He knows everything “He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death” (Job 12:22). The things that are hidden in darkness, hidden by people who think He cannot see, God knows everything. The things that were confusing to you in the past, God knows all, and He will show you the way. You will not miss your way and blessings; and nothing in the shadow of death or darkness will cut short your expectation in Jesus Name. This is the truth that will comfort, sustain, support and help you in the days of calamities, problems and trials, and you will not fall in Jesus Name.

“The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good” (Proverbs 15:3). When you are going on a journey and are confused or worried about what will happen, God knows and His eyes are upon you. When He calls you to Ministry and you are wondering what is going to happen; when you meet strangers and you don’t even know what they can or will do, God’s eyes are upon you. When it appears a situation is dicey, unpredictable, rest your mind, the Eyes of the Lord are in every place beholding the evil and the good. He will control everything. Even something as terrible, as deep and hidden as hell, sudden as destruction, God knows everything (Proverbs 15:4). “Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD” (Jeremiah 23:24). Can anyone – clever, sinner, believer or mischief doer – hide himself? None can hide himself from the Lord, He is everywhere present, and because of that He knows and sees everything.  The knowledge of God has no limitation or restriction. Everything is visible and known to Him, and nothing can be hidden from Him. He made the earth by His power. “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). This word you are hearing will demonstrate and manifest power in your life and turn every weakness in you to power in Jesus Name. Any creature, whoever they are, as they are thinking, planning to do something, hidden somewhere, far away beyond the reach of the children of God; whatever anybody might be thinking about you or conspiring to do, live your life and have the comforting truth that God knows everything and God is in control. He is in control of your life, friends, enemies, people that will give to you, people that will try to snatch something away from you, because neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Thank God He knows everything, and He is going to make everything beautiful, in His time, in your life in Jesus Name. Amen.

Point 2. THE CONVICTING TESTIMONY OF GOD’S OMNISCIENCE

1 Samuel 2:3; 16:7; 2 Samuel 7:20; 1 Kings 8:39; 1 Chronicles 28:9; Job 34:21,22; Psalms 33:13-15; Proverbs 5:21; 1 John 3:20-22

Here now are the convicting testimonies of people who have encountered, known and experienced the omniscience of God in their lives. Their testimonies will become your own testimony and the comforting truth in your life in Jesus Name. Every good thing we are reading that He did in their lives, He is going to do for you, and you will be a carrier of the blessing of God in Jesus Name. Say, Lord, I believe that you see me where I am now, and You will solve all my problems in Jesus Name. “Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed” (1 Samuel 2:3). This was said by Hannah, the mother of Samuel, who was barren, tormented and taunted by the other woman in her husband’s life because she had no child, and she wept. God is wiping away all your tears. Those who belittle you, put you down, torment you with your problems that are visible and say where is your God, the Lord is going to silence all the vain talkers against your life in Jesus Name. This is the testimony that Hannah is giving that our God is a God of knowledge and He weighs all actions..

(1 Samuel 16:7) Samuel was sent to anoint a king but God taught him a lesson not to judge by looks for God looks at the heart, and He knows everything in the heart.  Sometimes we look at the countenance, physique, and power of the people and we begin to tremble. There is nothing to be afraid of, God knows who they are and will cut them to size on your behalf in Jesus name. He knows all our desires, and all the things we are passing through, and He is going to bring His promises to pass in our lives and in the Church in Jesus Name. (2 Samuel 7:20) “And what can David say more unto thee? for thou, Lord GOD, knowest thy servant”. The Lord had saved, blessed and prospered David and was still promising more, what more could he say? (God is going to bless you beyond your imagination.) This is what David is saying here – “for thou Lord God, knowest thy servant”.

Look at the implication of God knowing you (1 Kings 8:39)  “Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;)” He knows all hearts, He knows their limitations, desires, sincerity, transparency, and because He knows all men, He gives to all according to what He knows.

(1 Chronicles 28:9). Here David shared with Solomon his experience and depth of understanding about the nature and attributes of God, saying because God knows all things there is a consequence of that knowledge. Serve God with a perfect heart and a willing mind and He will not cast you off in Jesus name. There are various ways of man, the ones that are clear to everybody, the ones that are cloudy, the ones we cannot tell, the ones that men understand, and the ones that we don’t understand (Job 34:21,22). Workers of iniquity cannot hide, and they will not hide. (Psalm 33:13) Does He see you today? Does He knows your heart, aspirations, desires, the things you are praying about? Of course He knows you and your needs as if you were the only person on the face of earth, and He is going to answer you appropriately in Jesus Name. (Psalms 33:13-15) He is considering your situation and circumstance, and He is going to bring something that will make you happy and joyful in your life in Jesus Name.“For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings” (Proverbs 5:21). The ways, character and doings of man are before the Almighty God. He knows your heart. “For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things” (1 John 3:20). Praise God, He knows all things. “And whatsoever we (I) ask, we (I) receive of him, because we (I) keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight” (1 John 3:22). He has answered your prayers, and you will see, taste and experience that miracle in Jesus Name.

Point 3. OUR CONFIDENT TRUST IN GOD’S OMNISCIENCE

Isaiah 40:27-31; 46:4,9-10; Jeremiah 32:17-19; Matthew 10:29-30; Mark 13:32; Psalms 84:11; 81:10

We have seen the comforting truth of God’s Omniscience, that there is no more pulsating of the heart and no fear, because God knows all things. We have also seen the convicting testimonies of other people of God’s Omniscience in their lives, and now we come to our own side. This day, I have confidence in God and trust the Lord. “Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?” (Isaiah 40:27). Never again say my prayers are not answered or God never does anything for me: Change your language, a new day and a new period has come. Why don’t you wait upon the Lord, pray more, seek His face more, and as you do He will exchange weakness for strength, He will answer your prayers (Isaiah 40:28-31). He will carry you to the end of your time and deliver you in Jesus Name. He declares the reaping from the time of sowing and He says the end of your life will be more glorious than your beginning. His counsel, purpose, declaration, blessing upon your life shall stand. He will do all His pleasure (Isaiah 46:4,9-10).

“Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee” (Jeremiah 32:17). In your life, family and ministry, this day, there is nothing too hard for my God. He will show you loving kindness. (Matthew 10:21) He will take care of you. (Mark 13:32). He knows what angels do not know, and because of that He will take care of you and every challenge of your life, the Lord will solve in Jesus Name. He wants you to have that knowledge that because He knows and sees everything, He sees your sorrows and problems, and He is willing and ready to solve all the problems. As you come to the Lord, and reveal to Him that you want His help, partnership, power, and that you want everything that He has for you, the Lord is going to answer your prayers in Jesus Name. Because of Who He is, and what he knows, the Lord is going to attend to your prayers even this day in Jesus name. “For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly” (Psalms 84:11). No disgrace, shame, oppression, darkness or dimness in your life again, He will bring you to grace and glory in Jesus Name. No good thing will He withhold from any of His children leaning on Him, trusting Him and walking uprightly. Good things are coming your way in Jesus Name. “I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it” (Psalms 81:10). What a glorious day, glorious opportunity, what a time for answered prayers, what an assurance to everyone that He knows you there, and He is giving you an open, unlimited invitation to open your mouth wide, and He will fill. It is time for infilling, healing, and power and deliverance. He knows the problem, the sickness, the challenge and has power to remove all. He knows what you desire and has power to fulfill it. Open your mouth wide and the Almighty God, the All-knowing and All-seeing God will fill it.

Ponder on this! Those things that brought sorrow, tears, and pressure upon your life in times past, God knows about them. He has heard your cries; He has heard all your prayers, even your good complaints; and because He knows, God is going to fix everything up in Jesus Name. Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi
